The London School of Technology academic session is semester based and students are assessed in every module in each semester. The award criteria, credit points, duration and levels are specified in the terms and conditions of entry qualification to each programme. All undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses are full time which is accommodated within the module structure.
The academic session consists of three semesters:
4. January to April
5. May to August
6. September to December
Admission Process
An Application Form provided by the School or the overseas admission representative (agent), or obtained online needs to be completed as appropriate. A questionnaire on establishing student’s ‘Intention to Study’ will also be provided with the application form. Students are to be interviewed according to the questionnaire response to establish their intention to study at LST.
Application and Registration
The completed Form must be submitted together with all the necessary documents. An incomplete or unclear application or application without necessary documents will not be processed. Please complete the Application Form and send to us together with:
- Registration fee £50 (non-refundable)
- All academic certificates and transcripts
- Two passport size photographs
- Copies of relevant passport pages
- Evidence of funding capability
- Proof of English language capability (e.g. IELTS test report)
- Work experience details, if appropriate.
Assessment of Applicants’ Suitability
Applicants’ appropriateness for a particular course will be assessed by the following criteria:
(a) information given on academic qualification and prior experience;
(b) evidence of qualifications and experience and award transcripts;
(c) letter of reference from applicants’ last academic institution or employer not related to them or any other person qualified to assess the applicant’s suitability;
(d) Interview, where appropriate, or making a practical assessment.
Conditional Letter of Acceptance
After satisfactory processing of application, the Admission Office will issue a Conditional Letter of Acceptance to the student stating the terms and conditions of the offer. The letter will include course details, tuition fees, duration of the course. The letter will also give an estimate of the cost of maintenance per year so that appropriate foreign exchange may be obtained. You will be sent two copies of the Letter of Acceptance, one copy for you to retain and the other to sign and return to us.
Letter of Enrolment and Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
Upon receipt of the full tuition fee or the first instalment of the fee together with the completed and signed Acceptance Form and any other outstanding conditions stated in the conditional Acceptance Letter, a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) will be issued.
Deferred Entry
LST is happy to consider applications for deferred entry, where appropriate. Decisions will be made according to the usual criteria. However, the School reserves the right to withdraw a course during an academic year. Any applicant chooses to defer his/her entry should notify the School in advance.
Clearing
LST aims to ensure that all candidates are provided with clear and accurate information throughout the clearing process so that applications can be dealt with promptly and efficiently.
The School will only offer a place to those applicants who are not already holding an offer elsewhere. If the School is approached by a candidate who is already admitted to another institution, they must be released into Clearing before an offer is made. If the other institution refuses to release the candidate, LST will not continue to negotiate with them.
